The First Eight Weeks | fastTRACK
The “Fast Track” classes are 30 hours total and meet twice/week. We call it “Fast Track” because you will advance faster since you are devoting more time to your goal of learning Spanish. The First Eight Weeks Fast Track will cover the material of the regular “First Eight Weeks” plus “Beginner 1A.” This class is designed for those who don’t know any Spanish or took Spanish a long time ago and don’t remember anything.
During the first 4 weeks of this class you will learn the basics and acquire some learning tools that will make it easier and faster to learn Spanish as you move to level 1, 2 and higher. If you’ve never taken a language class before, don’t worry – we will walk you through the basics. You will learn some new ways to quickly add words and verbs to your vocabulary, how to conjugate in the present tense, how to speak in the future tense, and you will get the foundation to further your Spanish skills.
During the last 4 weeks of this class you will learn the present progressive and the past progressive, introduction to the verb “to be” (ser and estar), the weather, emotions and physical descriptions, and the verb gustar. You will have the opportunity to practice conversation with other students at the same level. After this class you will be ready to take Beginner 1 Fast Track.
Beginner 1 | fastTRACK
The “Fast Track” classes are 30 hours total and meet twice/week. We call it “Fast Track” because you will advance faster since you are devoting more time to your goal of learning Spanish. This class is designed for those who have already taken “The First 8 Weeks Fast Track”(please see description for that level) or know the equivalent of what students at that level already know. The Beginner 1 Fast Track covers the information of Beginner 1B and 1C.
During the first 4 weeks of this class you will have the opportunity to participate in conversations and activities to reinforce all knowledge acquired in the previous sessions. You will advance in your knowledge and practice with the verbs ser and estar, present tense, future tense, present progressive and past progressive. You will also learn new verbs and commonly used Spanish expressions, and demonstrative adjectives and pronouns.
During the last 4 weeks of this class you will learn learn the preterite tense of regular verbs, demonstrative adjectives and pronouns, saber vs. conocer, and direct object pronouns. You will have the opportunity to practice conversation with other students at the same level. After this class you will be ready to move to Beginner 2 Fast Track.
Beginner 2 | fastTRACK
The “Fast Track” classes are 30 hours total and meet twice/week. We call it “Fast Track” because you will advance faster since you are devoting more time to your goal of learning Spanish. This class is designed for those who have already taken “Beginner 1 Fast Track” (please see description for that level) or know the equivalent of what students at that level already know. The Beginner 2, Fast Track covers the information of Beginner 2A and Beginner 2B
During the first four weeks of this class you will learn the reflexive verbs, common expressions used with reflexive verbs, por and para, and 12 irregular verbs in the preterite tense that you must master. You will have the opportunity to practice conversation with other students at the same level.
During the last four weeks of this class you will learn the “command” form (familiar and formal), the imperfect tense, and learn the difference between the imperfect and the preterite tense. You will have the opportunity to practice conversation with other students at the same level. After this class you will be ready to move to Intermediate Fast Track.
Intermediate | fastTRACK
The “Fast Track” classes are 30 hours total and meet twice/week. We call it “Fast Track” because you will advance faster since you are devoting more time to your goal of learning Spanish. This class is designed for those who have already taken “Beginner 2 Fast Track” (please see description for that level) or know the equivalent of what students at that level already know. The Intermediate Fast Track covers the information of Beginner 2C and the first level of Intermediate.
During the first four weeks of this class you will learn radical changing verbs, past participles, impersonal verbs, deber and debería, review of the command forms, and practice with the use of imperfect tense, and the present perfect. You will have the opportunity to practice conversation with other students at the same level.
During the last four weeks of this class we will cover the present subjunctive, the subjunctive with verbs of emotion, doubt, disbelief and denial and with conjunctions, past participles used as adjectives, the present perfect and the past perfect, The conversation will be centered in mainly two topics: Reinforcing grammar you already know, and general conversation. After this class you should stay at the Intermediate level for 2 more sessions (16 weeks) and then you can will be ready to move to the advanced level.
